A group of Cedar Lane young adults (ages 18-35) that meets for dinner and conversation on Sundays about once a month is looking for a few new members. Participants in the dinner group take turns hosting dinners, and each person contributes to the preparation of the dinner: someone may bring hors d'oeuvres, main course, vegetable, salad, dessert or drinks, etc. If you are interested in joining the group, please e-mail Lisa or call (301) 589-0667. Both members and non-members of Cedar Lane are welcome.
Join other Young Adults for brunch every second Sunday of the month--meet in the vestibule at the back of the Cedar Lane sanctuary 15 minutes after the end of 11 a.m. service (or after the 10 a.m. service during May-August). We will carpool to a local restaurant for lunch/brunch food and fellowship. Second Sunday Brunch meets at @ Cedar Lane UU Church (www.cedarlane.org) and usually dines in Bethesda or Rockville. Join other Young Adults for Happy Hour in Bethesda every fourth Thursday of the month from 6-8 p.m. Join our e-mail list to receive the announcement of where to meet. If you're new to the group and want to make sure you find us, or if you've missed this month's announcement, e-mail Megan or call (301) 807-4963. (Note special dates in November and December due to holidays falling on fourth Thursdays: Happy Hour will meet on November 15 & December 20, 2007.)
*Note: By popular demand, September happy hour will be Saturday, September 29 (instead of Thursday) so that we can go to Savannah's for karaoke! (Yes, we know this is not a Thursday, but this is the day they do karaoke...) Meet at Savannah's at 8 p.m., 10700 Connecticut Ave, Kensington, MD 20895.
Plan to come to the Cedar Lane Green-In on October 20 from 3-9 p.m. The church will be transformed by entertainment, speakers, poetry, exhibits, an art show, a potluck dinner, movies, hybrid car demos and more...all designed to educate and inspire us to reduce global climate change. Sunday, October 21: UUYAM Fall Hike at Great Falls Park, MD. Meet @ Cedar Lane UU Church (www.cedarlane.org) after second service at 12:15 p.m. to carpool. Pack a picnic lunch and water bottle. We'll pick a section of the Billy Goat Trail to hike.
